ISA Workshop on Translation in Systemic Amyloidoses

InterContinental Athenaeum Athens
September 25-26, 2023

Host: Efstathios Kastritis, MD, PhD     ISA President: Stefan Schönland, MD

Following suggestions made by ISA 2022 attendees, ISA will host a small workshop at the Athenaeum Intercontinental Athens in Athens, Greece on September 25-26 to bring together basic scientists and clinical experts to define major unresolved questions in the field of amyloidosis and to develop ideas and networks to solve them. Discussions during the workshop will revolve around three main topics: precursor toxicity, interplay between structure and biology of fibrils, and mouse and other models for amyloidosis.

Due to very limited capacity, attendance is currently limited to invited meeting faculty and early-career travel award recipients. If you have received an invitation or an early-career travel award, please make sure you register for the workshop by September 1, 2023 so we have all your details including hotel reservation requests. ISA will make hotel reservations for attendees.

Attendees are responsible for making sure their passports are current and for procuring any visas needed to enter Greece. Please email us if you need an invitation letter to support your visa application.

Workshop Attire
Business casual attire is suggested for the workshop but is not mandatory. Please note that the historical high temperature in September in Athens is 29C (84F), with a cooling trend late in the month. You may want to dress in layers because of the air conditioning in the hotel and meeting room.

Mask Suggestion
At this time, mask wearing during the workshop is optional.
